VETERANS OF ALL U.S SERVICE BRANCHES NEEDED TO FORM A VOLUNTEER HONOR GUARD

VFW Post 5408 Acworth, Georgia would like to invite any local veterans of any branch of service to join with us in forming an honor guard to be trained to perform actions associated with military funerals and other appropriate ceremonies as needed.

This invitation is also open to ALL military service groups including American Legion, AMVets, DAV, Vietnam Vets of America, Desert Storm Vets, OEF and any other veterans that have worn the uniform proudly.

We are especially looking for veterans that are physically capable of training and performing duties in compliance with the Manual of Arms and marching.

Duties to be performed will include being at the right place at the right time in uniform when scheduled, marching with weapons to the grave sites, and firing the proper salute on command.  Duties also include stacking arms, folding the flag and may also include acting as pall-bearers if needed.  We will all complete training on the required actions necessary for all ceremonies.  Training will take place at VFW Post 5408, 4764 Cobb Parkway NW, Acworth, Georgia whenever scheduled.

Anyone that has experience as a bugler or with bag pipes is welcome as well to participate.  The main goal is to develop a large enough pool of volunteers so that our brothers and sisters can be honored appropriately with the dignity and honor they deserve for their honorable service to this country.
